all creators! but we are now focusing on newsletter writers, podcasters & youtubers.

research and insights

  • interviews with passionfroot’s ceo jen phan, head engineer lorenzo and in-house creator akta.
  • key insights gathered from cycle (customer feedback and user research platform powered by ai) and dovetail (cloud-based customer knowledge platform): a more intuitive, monthly view, need for calendar synchronisation, and search/filter option.
  • development of a user archetype: a 31-year-old american newsletter writer.

design process

  • competitive analysis and prototyping. lean ux methodology.
  • research on existing platforms: monday, jira, trello, airtable, clickup, beacons, grizzly ads, agentio.
  • development of low-fidelity and high-fidelity prototypes, with standardization for ease of use, feedback, and iteration,
  • gathering feedback from company employees and external mentors from adplist.

implementation and results

  • simplified, clear, and intuitive calendar view with a monthly view and advanced filtering/search options.
  • enhanced display of packages for ease of management.
  • outcomes and metrics are to be updated as are not yet measured after the revamp.

challenges with the project

  • navigating a tight timeline and managing multiple tasks simultaneously while working by myself.
  • limitations in user testing and experimenting with calendar features due to time constraints.
  • designing a complex solution such as calendars is not easy - there are diverse use cases, speed and responsiveness, and difficulty in its integration with other platforms.

next steps

  • conducting a user survey to fine-tune priorities.
  • explore other calendar view options, as per research findings.
